Privacy policy

The short version

Windshield Repair HQ is a free directory of auto glass shops. If you ask a shop for a quote, we pass your request to that shop so they can call you back. We do not sell your details, and we do not send your request to anybody you did not choose.

What we collect

When you request a quote. Your name and phone number, and — only if you fill them in — your email address, your vehicle, the service you need and your message. That is the whole form.

When you claim or add a shop. Your business name, your email address, and whatever else you choose to give us: a contact name, phone number, website, address, the services you offer, and your answers to the questions on the form.

Automatically. Our host works out an approximate location from your IP address so the “near you” list can show shops in roughly the right place. If you press “Use my location” your browser asks your permission first and the result is used in your browser to sort that list — we do not store it.

Who we share it with

The shop you asked. A quote request is sent to the shop it was addressed to. If that shop has not claimed its listing, we hold the request and tell them one is waiting rather than passing your phone number to a business we have not verified.

Other shops — only if you tick the box. The quote form offers to send your request to other shops nearby who can answer sooner. That is off unless you turn it on, and we never pass an enquiry to a shop's competitors without being asked to.

Nobody else. We do not sell your details and we do not pass them to list brokers or lead resellers.

Advertising and embedded content

We show ads through Google AdSense on pages for shops that have not claimed their listing. Google may set cookies and use them to show ads based on your previous visits. You can control this at Google My Ad Center, and read how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Shop pages embed a Google Map. Loading one tells Google you visited that page, under Google's own privacy policy.

Your choices

Ask us to send you a copy of what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and we will. Email hello@windshieldrepairhq.com from the address you gave us, or with enough detail for us to find the request.

If you are a shop owner and we have emailed you, every message carries an unsubscribe link and we honour it. You can also ask us to take your listing down entirely.

We keep quote requests for as long as the shop may need them to do the job and to settle any dispute about it, and we delete them on request.

Children

This site is for people arranging vehicle glass work. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13.
